The Writers Month this November (2011) has been so popular that we’re holding a Spring Writers Retreat from 1–29 February 2012.

If you’re working on a writing project, or want to start one, or if you have a deadline to meet or you just need some inspiration, come to Casa Ana in the Sierra Nevada mountains of southern Spain this February.

Casa Ana is a 400-year old house in the tiny village of Ferreirola in the Alpujarras. Once an important family home with a wine press, olive oil store, barns and stables, Casa Ana has been transformed into an elegant and comfortable place to stay with south-facing terraces, a garden and spectacular river gorge views.

Literary events at Casa Ana

Literature events are regularly held at Casa Ana: it’s the Spanish home of the Creative Detox, and TLC’s Literary Adventures have come for the past two years, bringing writers including Margaret Drabble, Chris Stewart, Nell Dunn, Jacob Ross, Rebecca Abrams and Michael Jacobs (www.literaryadventures.com).

The weather in February

By February, spring has arrived in the Alpujarras. The almond blossom is out, the grass is green and there’s plenty of warm sunshine. When you need a break from writing, there are long walks in the mountains (and short walks to the bar) from the front door. Oh yes, and flights are cheap if you book early.
