"Casa Ana is a fine place to hold retreats"
Rosie Walford, The Big Stretch, Dec 2009
Accommodation and facilities
Casa Ana was once a large family home with a wine press, olive store, barns and stables. In 2005 Anne Hunt, the new owner, carried out a major renovation to create her dream: a beautiful, elegant and peaceful mountain haven for small groups to hire.
- Comfortable bedrooms for 12 people in a combination of doubles, singles and twins at Casa Ana including accommodation for 2 in the village. The bedrooms are furnished with comfortable beds, fitted cupboards and shelves and some have writing tables. They are decorated in white with terracotta floors and scattered with rugs. All have underfloor central heating;
- Four new bathrooms with rain showers, large mirrors and shelves, decorated in hand-made tiles inspired by the Moorish designs in the Alhambra palace, with terracotta floors and under-floor central heating;
- Group activities room measuring 32 sq metres, light and airy with French doors giving onto a verandah and big windows looking out to the mountains. The room can be furnished conference-style with table and chairs, or with easy chairs, or it can be offered empty of furniture;
- Dining room with long table and chairs for 12 people with traditional beams, and a wood burning stove, leading to an outdoor dining terrace;
- Adjacent to the dining room is the kitchen where delicious meals are prepared. There are always supplies of tea, coffee and light refreshments on offer;
- Underfloor central heating throughout the house in winter - in summer the 2ft thick walls of stone and rammed earth keep the house cool and inviting;
- Style: throughout the house you’ll see antique chestnut roof beams and many of the original panelled doors. All the floors have natural terracotta tiles, scattered with rugs. Modern comforts such as underfloor heating and new bathrooms with rain showers have been sensitively incorporated so that Casa Ana retains the look and feel of a very old and beautiful house. And as a backdrop to it all, there are the mountains;
- Wi-fi internet access is available and there is a mobile phone signal in the property;
- Logistical support: we can help you plan every aspect of your stay at Casa Ana including flights, transport, local amenities, walks and activities, visits to Granada and much more;
- Marketing support: if you are running a workshop, holiday or retreat, we can provide an entry on the Casa Ana website free of charge

Outside spaces
- A secluded south-facing courtyard garden planted with pear, loquat, orange and cherry trees;
- The garden leads onto a south facing roof terrace with magnificent views of the mountains and the sunrise. The terrace is ideal for yoga, tai chi, stargazing;
- Behind the house there is a cascade of four garden terraces, also south-facing, some shady, some sunny, linked by steps with flower beds and seating areas;
- The next village with its bars and restaurants is only a ten-minute walk away. From the house there are many walking paths and hiking trails and a summertime swimming pool in the nearby village of Pitres;

Location
Casa Ana has the advantage of being deep in the Andalucian countryside but within easy reach of Malaga and Granada airports. See directions to Casa Ana.
The house is situated in the tiny hamlet of Ferreirola, set in an area of the Alpujarras known as La Taha, which was recommended for its authenticity in the 2009 Rough Guide.
